Herlings in fourth. The gate dropped in Race Two and it was all Febvre, going from holeshot to victory in dominant fashion. While the racing was tight, passing proved challenging on the British circuit. Making the pass was one thing, making it stick was quite another so early position was crucial, leaving many challengers feeling frustrated but everyone was in the same situation, making Turn One great for the spectators. Febvre has tightened his grip on the red plate with 584 points, still not a comfortable lead over the teenager, Coenen, who now has 552. It is then a step back to Coldenhoff on 411.
MX2 Simon Laengenfelder( Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) read the conditions best in the MX2 class with a clean sweep to have the perfect weekend in England. The first moto was a hard fight from sixth but in Race Two, he made the task a whole bunch easier by grabbing the holeshot on the hardto-pass circuit. On what is possibly considered a‘ dry’ track for the UK( someone had to say it …) grip was inconsistent, to say the least. Some corners held well, others had the British luxury of damp base and constantly changing surface, just waiting to catch out any overconfidence. In second for the round was Liam Everts( Husqvarna) ahead of Sasha Coenen( KTM). In the season standings, it is Laengenfelder on 575, his teammate, Andrea Adomo on 523 and Kay de Wolf on 505 after twelve of the scheduled twenty rounds, so still a long way to go but gaps are forming between the consistent and the rest.
