DIRT NEWS

ALL IN THE FAMILY...

Round Four of the AMA Pro Motocross

Championship ended with Australian brothers Jett and Hunter Lawrence on the top two steps. Jett won the round with a 3-1 scoresheet, narrowly beating his sibling, Hunter, who finished with a 2-2 result, ahead of Eli Tomac. No doubt beating Jett in the second race will have ramped up the favourite child motivation for the next round but the High Point, Pennsylvania round belonged to Jett. In the series battle, Jett Lawrence extends his lead, sitting on 190 points, Eli Tomac is second with 162 and it is pretty close after that with Aaron Plessinger on 156, Hunter Lawrence on
153 and Justin Cooper on 148. There are then 30 points back to R J Hampshire and Cooper Webb not having the start to the series he was expecting, now on 100. Keeping the racing exciting for the fans until the last pass by Jett, it gave him the round win over Hunter by a single point. Rain made the surface slick and Jett didn’ t get the greatest start but kept it smooth and made his way up to third by the flag, just enough to topple his brother off the top step. Frustratingly, it was so, so close to Hunter gaining his first ever round win in the 450 class.
