better sound ( there ’ s a removable baffle too ) and be plug and play without any ECU flashing needed . As this muffler is EU Approved it comes with a catalytic converter in the link pipe .
FITTING The muffler comes with a pair of white gloves and some heatresistant paste and a link to scan for the fitting instructions – there are none in the box . Pulling the stock muffler off is easy , but I had to take the rack and the lefthand panels off to get to everything . That done , undo two bolts and it ’ s free . While I had both mufflers on the bench I took the opportunity to weigh them . The stock pipe comes in at 4.45kg and the Remus at 3.89kg , saving just over half a kilo . I was expecting a bigger difference , but the muffler is durable metal rather than carbon fibre and the catalytic linkpipe is quite heavy . The exhaust gasket gets reused from the stock muffler , just pull it off the old one and slide it onto the new one . There was a little bit of jiggling to get the link pipe twisted to the right angle
