DUCATI ’ S DESMOMX EXTENDS ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD

Ducati ’ s choice to spend their racing R & D time predominantly in their home series is paying off , with the firm firmly extending their lead in the penultimate round of the series . While soon-to-be rival Triumph opting for the global arena of MX2 and supercross with the debut of its MX platform , Ducati has gone straight into developing for MX1 domination with its Desmo450 MX platform cleaning up in the Italian championship . This was thanks to rider , Alessandro Lupino , who

once again took the Ducati Desmo450 MX to the top of the podium of the MX1 Italian Motocross Championship . After his debut victory in Mantua and the one at Ponte a Egola , the eight-time Italian Motocross Champion confirmed his pedigree in the first heat at Castiglione del Lago . Lupino led the race from the first to the last lap and , with second place in the second heat , he took the overall victory , repeating the one achieved at Ponte a Egola earlier in the season .
