BEATING HEART The engine does not truly ever hide its racy ability - after all , it produces 115hp ( 85kW ) and 92Nm torque - there is a civility , almost a gentleness at lower revs in the power delivery that makes lane splitting and Sunday cruising a relaxing pleasure . In keeping with the design , top end power is strong and the responsiveness is great . Half throttle up is where the bulk of the power is , but the power curve is linear yet strongly progressive as the revs build . Compared to the 890 R Adventure it has less punch at low revs and less flywheel feel , but the Duke feels stronger above two thirds throttle all the way to the limiter . The Duke ’ s flexible low end power aids its ease of use
