Triumph CEO Nick Bloor will be understandably chuffed with the result that sees Guillem Farres sitting on the FIM MX2 World Championship throne with Hayden McLellan alongside in the runner-up spot. Who would have thought that after a mere three years building motocross machinery, Triumph would be celebrating a 1-2 in the World Championship. It was also good to see the teammates racing hard, but cleanly, between themselves as well. No team orders, just race. Maybe car racing’ s top level need to watch motocross to see how it ought to be done … How good were Farres and McLellan? Well, they managed, between them, to win 11 of the 19 rounds. Farres winning 14 motos and six rounds to McLellan’ s five rounds. The duo swapped the lead early in the season but Farres took control by the midway point and between them, they owned the red late this season. Triumph are now a force in the league and are working hard on being even better next season, so we wait and see what the British bring to the fight.…
