This last month I have been testing out a set of Ixon kit. The jacket and pant combination is the Ixon M-SKEID Touring / Adventure suit, which Ixon says is its most technically advanced product. The basics of it are that the suit is made from a fully laminated fabric, using waterproof, breathable XDRY3L technology. This means the waterproofing is built into the fabric, rather than being a lining that’ s worn inside the suit. One of the main benefits of this is the face fabric doesn’ t soak up water, keeping it lighter when wet and allowing it to dry more quickly.

Protection is CE-certified Fanom armour in the elbows and shoulders, with back protection as an option. The collar has an adjustable neoprene closure( feels nicer against the neck than most fabrics, and the sleeves have Lycra cuffs with a thumb loop( both are great features). There are plenty of pockets- three large pockets on the jacket and two on the pants. Also, the gear has a removable thermal lining and large vents that lock open for summer outings, so you can remain protected but keep cool while riding. The gear I’ ve been wearing is
