It was something that was in the back of my mind to sort at some point , but it didn ’ t bother me enough to actually fix . In fact I ’ d pretty much forgotten about it until one morning I was at my local dealer , digging through the bargain bin – pretty much every dealer has one – and spotted some quality Zeta aluminium parts in the bottom , hidden underneath cheap gloves and neck tubes . Shiny hard parts often catch my magpie eye , and this was no different . Sat there , unloved , was a pair of Zeta bar risers in a diameter to suit the GasGas ’ fatbars . My back ’ s salvation had arrived .
FITTING Other than swapping out the standard seat for the GasGas Gel Comfort Seat , this was probably the easiest fitment of anything I ’ ve ever done . Basically , just unbolt the bar upper clamp , place the risers under the bars and use the included bolts to hold the upper clamp in place again . It doesn ’ t get much more simple . I didn ’ t have a choice in amount of rise on these spacers , but they ’ ve got a reasonable

amount . These ones are a 24mm rise . I was concerned the brake line might not have enough length to accommodate the extra rise , but it was fine – there was a fair bit of leeway there . All the electrical wires had enough extra to go up additional 24mm too .
THE RESULT Ok , so 24mm isn ’ t a huge amount of rise , but it ’ s a noticeable one . I ’ m not quite so stooped when standing . I don ’ t really notice it now as they ’ ve been fitted for a while , so it ’ s become the new normal . Would I have liked more ? Yes , but that wasn ’ t the option I had . Before I even consider looking for more rise I need to see how much room for manoeuvre there is with the brake line and cables . Will I do it ? I ’ ll keep scouring the bargain buckets …
