RIDING THE KR350
The KR350 in Mangawhai was another great Kiwi Rider event. For me, it started with the ride up from Rotorua with two friends. We took the backroads to Paeroa( coffee and retail therapy) then headed to Auckland. Amazingly, my buddy Dave hadn’ t ridden across the Harbour Bridge before and enjoyed ticking that off. After another coffee at Silverdale, we headed onto the backroads again, heading north up the east coast. From Matakana onwards we were on some great gravel roads, enjoying the turns and the sun. I always enjoy arriving at the event and catching up with the KR community as they rock up. The Mangawhai Domain Hall provided an ideal event hub with plenty of space in the carpark, a spacious bright hall and a lovely sunny deck. The weather was perfect and sitting on the deck to eat was quite lovely. Sitting down to eat with the riding community is always one of the highlights for me, breaking bread, sharing stories, laughing and listening fills the human soul. A special mention needs to go to the catering crew, an awesome bunch of riders from the
