Talking‘ Quickly’ – the NSU way down to a big push with the help of locals Clive Higgie and Lloyd‘ Macca’ McKenzie to get an amazing 90 machines on display. There were a lot of gems which came out of sheds all over New Zealand for the day, from rare Suzuki motocross machines, to a fun Suzuki RV90, a wire-wheel Katana 1100, a Rickman Metisse B44‘ Grand Prix’ 441, an Indian 1926 Scout, a barn-find 1948 Model 75 Panther 350cc imported by Percy, plus AJS and even NSU Quicklys. Wanganui District Council allowed us to use
the 100m section of Guyton Street which included the Colemans’ first two shops. The 1925-58 store is now the Red Eye Café and the 1958-66 shop is the Great Kitchen Indian Restaurant. It’ s remarkable that the stores still exist and you can enjoy food at both, which the locally-based NZ Royal Enfield Riders Club enjoy on a regular basis. By 1930 Percy travelled to the Isle of Man as New Zealand’ s first official entrant and raced both a 350 Royal Enfield in the JuniorTT and a Rudge 500 loaned to him
