For over fifteen years, Whanganui has been host to a Vintage Weekend celebration over Wellington Anniversary Weekend to mark the region’ s heritage. Thousands of visitors flood into the city to enjoy a whole range of activities from riverboats in action, traction engines, vintage cars, steam trains, music and markets. For 2026, one street was blocked off for a motorcycle display featuring the brands imported by Percy Coleman and Co, the small motorcycle dealer who opened a Harley Davidson dealership on Guyton Street in late January 1925.
