We can take some solace in the fact that Horace knew that we riders and many others , loved him , and valued him . He gave of himself to us all , and he rescued so many of us . The day I crashed a mate ’ s bike , on the first corner 300 metres from the meeting place , Horace was there , leading the way , picking up the pieces ,
physically and emotionally , in his red ute . He made everyone feel better , and just dealt with it , like it was normal . We owe it to him to remember his voice in our heads when we ride . Horace served as the President of both IMOC and EVERY SUNDAY . He will always remain the President and the quiet internal voice leading on every ride I take . Even now he ’ s leading the way . “ May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest ”, my friend , and if they have fucking loud exhaust pipe sounds while they ’ re at it , so much the better ..
