With two of New Zealand ’ s fast women taking on the world in the FIM Womens ’ World Champs this coming season , now is the perfect time to support them with a little financial assistance . It is going to cost Avalon Lewis and Billee Fuller something in the region of $ 250,000 to compete at every round , run a team and cover the costs of this epic campaign . here in New Zealand dip into the far recesses of our wallets and make this historic Womens ’ World Series a nationwide thing ? It will be far more exciting to watch riders you have backed , be it with a modest contribution or something more substantial , than just watching two hugehearted young women represent their country and go ‘ yep , maybe I could ’ ve been a part of this ’ later on . With Avalon and Billee currently running first and second in the NZSBK ProTwins class , they have the speed and talent to go toe-to-toe with the best in the world , as Av showed in her wild card appearances last year , getting straight into the front running group . KTM HITS THE START BUTTON ON PRODUCTION
This opportunity is a groundbreaking step , not just for these two fantastic ambassadors of the sport but for the racing scene in general . To see these two wonderful humans take on the challenge on as level a playing field as possible , we need to smash out the usual obstacles that competing for a prolonged series on the other side of the world presents . In what must be a massive sigh of relief in Mattighofen and indeed the whole of Austria , production is resuming at KTM . With all production lines expected to be running by March , the restructuring plan has been approved – with conditions . Details are thin on the ground as yet , but it ’ s looking like they have 90 days to pay 30 % of their debt to creditors ( the rest being written off ). For us though , the key finding is KTM is , once more , Ready To Race . There are changes involved at the top echelon and how the shares will look once the dust has settled is yet to be seen but , for now , it is back to business for KTM and all of its dealers and fans .
