Round Six, at the glorious MotorLand Aragón circuit, marked the halfway point of the WorldSBK season.

With Aruba. it Ducati’ s Nicolo Bulega having won every race of the season so far, the lingering question at the front of the pack was whether Iker Lecuona could break through for a win against his immensely resilient teammate.

ALL OVER THE PLACE Sam Lowes’ early season challenge, on the Marc VDS Ducati for third place overall, and top independent, had stalled at the previous two rounds as events, not all of his own
making, had lost him points and dropped him behind Barni Spark’ s Yari Montella and GoEleven’ s Lorenzo Baldassarri in the standings. That’ s five Ducati’ s in the first five slots by the way … Lingering injuries continued to be a factor for other teams. Both ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK riders were absent at Aragón. Miguel Oliveira, injured at Balaton Park, was deputised again by Michael van der Mark and Danilo Petrucci’ s injuries from Autodrom Most left him in need of a stand-in, which saw
