MAMOA ELECTRIFIES CLASSICS
Hollywood A-lister, Jason Mamoa has had some of his classic vehicles converted to electric power by Oxford UK based company Electrogenic. A couple of vintage Land Rovers and a brace of 1920s Harley-Davidson motorcycles have joined his Rolls Royce Phantom 11 in the conversion. He has also had a custom trailer built with integrated storage for enough energy to charge his vehicles for a month or more as he travels and films his docu-series On The Roam.“ I really love annoying Steve at Electrogenic and trying to make things extremely difficult for them. I come in with the wildest ideas. That’ s three times you have made my dreams come true.“ I’ m always excited about what’ s happening with technology and how we move through this world.
So, that’ s the motivation( for these projects). I live a life that’ s kind of off the grid, and I love being outdoors … I want to be able to stay outdoors and try to do something in a more sustainable way.” For the purists out there going purple in the face with rage – chill. The conversions are both classy and totally reversable, no classic Harley- Davidsons were harmed in this project. And another thing to come from Mamoa’ s mission … The kits to convert the Land Rovers and Harley-Davidsons are now available to the public. Two of Mamoa’ s bikes are now hybrids, utilising electric alongside the original 74ci engines, the other is purely EV. No holes were drilled where there shouldn’ t be holes, nothing was cut, nothing was permanently added. They have to be the coolest looking EV motorcycles on the planet.
