GAERNE FASTBACK ENDURANCE BOOTS
WORDS & PHOTOS: Kendall Bishop
New boots are( and always should be) a big decision when it comes to riding gear. After more than enough time riding in forests, I’ ve learnt that discovering whether a stump is rotten or rock-solid is far more enjoyable when you can trust your boots will protect your little piggies. Enter the Gaerne Fastback Endurance offroad boots. The big“ G” could stand for a lot of things: great value, grippy soles … giddy up? At first glance, this colourway leans heavily into a more agricultural look, borderline bogan, some might say. But I wanted something different and did so without spending an outrageous fortune. Coming in a few hundred dollars cheaper than Gaerne’ s long-standing flagship SG12, the Fastback Endurance feels close to premium but without the flagship price-tag. The sole is more‘ enduro’ focused across the outer half of each foot, paired with an old-school stitched welt. Steel toe caps and a robust composite toe box provide solid protection, with enough room for most feet. Break-in was easy, and they felt great after just a couple of hours.
