time for a breather before a descent off Jenkins Hill into a valley worthy of respect and some native bush trail riding brought us back to the crop circles and the Paraglider runway . Our forestry mate was back and had an accountant with him , I reckon that we had behaved so well the day before it was figured that the foreign owners finance rep was allowed to meet us and see we were harmless and a step was made towards more motorcycle entry into the forests . Up to the watch tower again but by a slightly different route and , after farewelling the forestry duo , we descended back to town from Involution Hill to find another valley and this one went quite a way before we found a the Wairoa MTB Park and a decision ; a foot track and a bridge , or a bouldery river crossing ? I watched a couple of oopsies one involving water inside a helmet , the other was a drowning proper . My turn came and like so many show offs on the day , my feet stayed on the pegs as I rode across . In the private Bollase Forest , there was a missing corner man , so , after red herring or two , we proceeded on a track that was known to circle the forest . On the next regroup I noticed a lot of oil on somebody ’ s back wheel - it wasn ’ t a ScottOiler gone wrong but a leaking sprocket seal and no oil on the dipstick . As luck would have it , he could coast down to the forest gate where the sweep vehicle and trailer were waiting . Random act of kindness ticked off again . Our end destination was the Higgins Heritage Park , near Wakefield . My mate Brendon knew the way so off our little group set to Sunday Creek , then Dovedale and then around the
