SASHA COENEN ON FIRE IN THE USA
Sasha Coenen swept the AMA 250MX class at Southwick while on a working holiday in the US. The current leader of the FIM World
series wasted no time getting up to speed on the circuit despite a gnarly crash. Picking himself up, he simply carved through to the front and there he stayed. For the 19-year-old it was his third win from four starts, leaving the American fans and riders in no doubt as to his sheer pace, even on unfamiliar tracks. After teasing the locals, it is back to Europe where he will continue in his quest for the title on his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing KTM
250SX-F. Meanwhile, twin brother Lucas has a tougher
time in the 450 sandpit. Bad luck came over with him and despite glimpses of brilliance, that luck stalked him and his results don’ t show his abilities. Still, he is leading back home in Europe and the brothers looked like they enjoyed their time in the AMA competition and would be welcome back. Our very own Cole Davies finished third at Southwick, enough to keep him atop the points table at the time of writing.
