Lock-on grips are easy to remove
weather adventure riding that much more pleasant . So , while I ’ ve been kitting this GasGas ES700 out for adventure riding , I was mulling the idea of heated grips over in my head . It didn ’ t look good though - not much room for all the wires , and the grips available were pretty thick . Browsing the GasGas parts website , the option for heated grips popped up . I took a punt , hoping they wouldn ’ t be too annoying to fit ...
FITTING Oh . My . God . A tiny box turns up in the post . Two grips , some cable ties , a small amount of
wiring and not a drop of grip glue in sight . Both grips are lock-ons , which makes it insanely easy . Even easier is the ride-by-wire throttle doesn ’ t have cable nipples to be moved or reinstalled . The throttle grip is keyed and just slides on into place . Tighten up the retaining bolt and ta-da , the throttle is sorted . The other grip is even easier as there ’ s nothing to line up . Next I ran the wires along the other cables to behind the headlight ( four screws hold that on ) and plugged the pre-configured terminals into the ACC2 for a switched connection . Tidy it up with a couple of cable ties and it ’ s done . I ’ d put
