+ Completing it all . The GasGas 350s were a blast . Shane our guide was amazing . The Old Coach Road and the Telephone Track . Scenery and terrain is fantastic . Warm rain kept the dust down . Support crew . Pete and the set up are top notch We all supported each other .

Booking out the whole tour meant we had a great team .

- Some of the bikes needed remedial work .

Standard thin tubes resulted in several punctures .
The stretchers were uncomfortable after a couple of nights and leaked .
The mile-munching is a nuisance but understandable .
The cost of damage repairs is a bit of a blow – take photos of the bike before and after .
The tip of the Cape is an anti-climax once the photos have been taken .
Cost was around $ 10K per person , but worth it . It was over far too soon fantastic single track forged by Shane and crew some weeks previously and we also had to ride through a controlled burn off , which is common in northern Queensland . It ’ s crazy riding within a metre of actual flames ! It was then onto some of the Outback ’ s amazing red dirt roads where we played speedway riders until stopping at an outback pub for a quick drink . It had only just opened up after a 12 month closure because the previous owner had been taken by a crocodile . And not taken on a holiday ! Sobering , considering we had been crossing rivers up to wheel depth . And we were promised that they would get even deeper over the next couple of days . I did ask if we would be seeing any crocs on our ride . We were told that we probably wouldn ’ t but we could rest assured that they would see us . By the end of the day , there were a few missing mirrors , indicators and scratched up bark busters . I , for one , was wondering if the rest of the trail would be so demanding but it turned out day two would be the most challenging . Fish and Chips at the roadhouse stop was a pleasure for all .
DAY THREE Cape York Adventures ’ owner , Roy Kunda , joined us on his KTM 890 and led the tour for half a day .
