This amount of travel is only 20mm shy of the KTM 690 Enduro R . Preload is tool adjustable . Enduro-sized wheels in 21 / 18-inch hoops come fitted with Metzeler ’ s Karoo 4 tyres in 90 / 90-21 and 140 / 80-18 sizes . The engine is the latest LC4c lump with an updated cylinder head and gearbox , making 44hp . The stainless steel exhaust is unique in that it does not need a muffler . KTM says this has given a weight saving of 2kg . Braking is Bybre ( by Brembo ) with a 285mm disc and axial caliper on the front and 240mm single piston caliper at the back . The brake system has selectable off-road ABS mode , which stays activated even after turning the ignition off . The mode allows the locking of the rear wheel , allowing advanced riders to make the most out of off-road adventures . There is also a dedicated ABS off switch to disengage
ABS on both wheels . Selectable ride modes include Offroad and Street modes . Offroad mode allows more rear wheel slip , making it easier to lift the front wheel over obstacles or slide the rear wheel when needed . The default setting is Street mode . Traction Control can also be turned off completely . A new connectivity unit connects the motorcycle to the rider ’ s smartphone via Bluetooth , enabling the rider access to turnby-turn navigation , music library directly from the dashboard , call in and out , and Remote Control Mode , which allows the rider to control their phone via the switches . A new memory feature is added to the 2025 line-up . When the motorcycle is turned off , it remembers the selected Ride Mode and retains this mode once it starts up . We can see the NZ market being keen to try a more dirt-oriented version of the 390 . With 40kg less weight and a similar power output to the 450MT , it should be a fun bike to hit the adventure trails .
