DIRT NEWS

KTM’ S TOUGH YEAR GETS RESULTS

It is no secret that KTM has had a tumultuous couple of years. Lots has changed and a lot of water has passed beneath the bridge but despite the pressure that its race teams could not help but feel, the results came. And they kept coming. In fact, it has been a richly successful year for the Tangerine Team in all of its different forms. KTM has secured no less than 12 FIM World Titles. Along with the 12 constructor titles, it has been a year of celebrations after a whole bunch of hard work, some tough decisions and the support of some fantastic sponsors. To put it into perspective, KTM has now tallied up 371 World Titles. Keeping it in the family somewhat, Husqvarna now has 122 World Titles in its trophy cabinet and GASGAS has 43. So, yeah, it has been tough of late but the dream remains, the new models are still coming and at least for the foreseeable future, it is business as usual in the racing and development spheres. Production is back to full-time. The new major shareholders are not trying to reinvent a proud brand and have brought deep pockets to the table. It looks like the dark clouds have slid back to where they came from and KTM seems to be making big strides in its economic situation. New enthusiasm, new ideas but keeping those fabulous folk at the heart of the beast. Yes, changes will continue but such is the everchanging world we live in.
