WIRELESS CHARGING Running a phone on the bars for maps draws a huge amount of battery power . For a long time I ran a tank bag with a powerbank tucked inside , charging with a cable as I rode ( none of my bikes have a built in USB for charging ). This year I ’ ve changed things up a little and gone a little deeper into the Quadlock ecosystem with the Weatherproof Wireless Charging head unit and their Waterproof 12v to USB Smart Adaptor USB power supply which connects directly to the battery . Due to some clever electronics inside , there ’ s no fear of draining the bike battery if left charging while the bike isn ’ t running . There are a couple of power management options ( on , off and auto ). I run it on auto which supplies power if the battery voltage is above 13.5v and stops the power if the voltage drops below 12.5v .

take the case off - the mounting socket on the back is barely noticeable . I ’ ve never had a mount break . The Vibration Dampener works - well , it has for me across multiple phones and very varied riding conditions . The USB supply and wireless charger mean I don ’ t have to plug a cable into the bottom of the phone , which doesn ’ t work when its wet anyway . Overall , the Quadlock system is well designed , secure , charges and protects a phone . I bought a mount for my car too . Your mileage may vary , but I ’ m impressed with the last five years . Here ’ s to many more .
