Cormac Buchanan was on a mission, showing just how good the Southlander is on a wet and technical track with a P3 in the first practice. Second practice didn’ t end quite as well, ending in a highside and a nasty gash to his knee that required stitches. The wound also exposed the bone in his kneecap, so due to the risk of infection, the medical team ruled the flying Kiwi unfit to race. To say Mac was gutted would be an understatement, largely due to him not wanting to let his team and supporters down, more so than himself. Still, the stoic Southlander accepted the ruling with grace and was full of praise for the medical personnel and their longterm view of putting the rider’ s health at the top of the priority list. Onwards to the next round.
MOTO MORINI ALL- TRHIKE 450 HITTING NZ SHORES
From October, Moto Morini’ s 450cc twincylinder adventure bike, the slightly strangely named Alltrhike, will be available here. With a price of $ 9990 + ORC, it sees what is now a big and super competitive sector of the Kiwi market become even more fiercely fought over. Being a popular adventure bike size and also falling into the LAMS arena, coming in at that titillating price point will raise an eyebrow or two of those teetering on the edge of buying a backroad, unsealed road or, to be frank, any road bike.
