displays, they could easily relate to the riders and machines, so I must doff my cap to those tireless supporters and promoters who have ignited the passion in the next generation. JOIN THE PARTY While I am mid-rant regarding an event, here is the challenge facing organisers, promoters, officials and even riders. While it is all well and good to read about events, watch reels on social media and even try not to fall off the couch watching onboard footage online, there is a downside. Without‘ actual’ crowds of spectators and the funds they insert into the game, there is no game. Simple. To build our sport into a sustainable and rewarding experience going forward, please try to take the time and make the effort to watch it live. Come along, hear the engines wail, smell the smell of tortured tyres and hot exhausts, chat to the riders, ask questions of the brain trust that are the folk in the pits. If you want to get involved, just find any of the easy to spot officials and they will direct you to the perfect person to help with your next step. It really is that simple. The racing community are exactly that, community. They will help. You don’ t have to be the next Marquez either.
