ROAD NEWS

DGR 2026

Right-O then chaps, time to buff the brass, polish the paint and clean the chrome for the annual event of all things posh and proper in the motorcycle world – the Distinguished Gentleman’ s Ride. For those less distinguished and proper, this is your opportunity to dress up and pretend for a day, all the while supporting a fantastic cause. The funds raised go towards prostrate cancer research and men’ s mental health, something that affects all of us to at least some degree by friends, family, coworkers or ourselves. Last year, this international phenomena saw over 127,000 riders get together around the globe and raise nearly 8 million US dollars, which is a gazillion of ours.

As always, Triumph Motorcycles is putting its shoulder into helping the event and this year, some elegantly dressed gentleman( all though not exclusive, so ladies can come along, dressed dapper) will win the big daddy prize of a special DGR liveried Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Café Racer. A warning – entry may have such side effects as stylish moustaches and excellent life choices. Date for the rides is May 17 globally and there are events all over New Zealand, so get that herringbone tweed jacket your grandfather wore and get amongst it. Tall tales will be shared and the competitive amongst you will be judged on appearances, that of your good selves and your magnificent machines.
