the Enduro1 podium with a fourth-place finish on day one, and followed it up with a strong ride to claim fifth in class on day two. The weekend in Fafe began with Friday night’ s Super Test, highlighted by a special demonstration from Jonny Walker and Ivan Cervantes aboard Triumph’ s newly launched enduro models – the TF250-E and TF450-E – marking their first public outing. Racing followed soon after, with torrential rain and worsening conditions making the track increasingly challenging. Mikael delivered a strong lap to finish seventh, while Jamie, starting later in the order, placed 23rd. Saturday’ s opening day of racing served up wet, foggy conditions and demanding tests, but Persson rose to the challenge. Delivering multiple top-10 test times, he powered to an Enduro1 podium and ninth overall on Triumph’ s EnduroGP debut. Building on that, Persson came out swinging on day two, securing a second Enduro1 podium and placing seventh overall – finishing less than 30 seconds behind the winner in a strong field. McCanney also enjoyed a strong start to the season, navigating the challenging Portuguese terrain on Saturday to secure fourth in Enduro1 and 10th overall, only 16 seconds behind teammate Persson in both categories. Day two proved trickier, as the Manxman struggled to find his rhythm on the tests. Despite a clean ride, he was unable to match his day-one pace and ultimately finished fifth in Enduro1 and 12th overall. Persson said,“ That’ s round one done here in Portugal! I had two fantastic days, finishing third in class after a really positive weekend. I was pushing hard to finish a bit higher up overall today, so I’ m pleased with P7. I’ m really happy for the team – we’ ve worked so hard this pre-season so it’ s great to start the season on such a positive note!” Teammate McCanney commented,“ So, we’ re finished here at round one of EnduroGP, and we have definitely been put through our paces this weekend! It’ s been a tough return, especially carrying a small injury, but I’ m happy to have posted some good test times across the two days. It’ s been a great start for the team with Miki putting the new bike on the box twice, and we have a lot to build on going forward.”“ We’ ve just completed the first EnduroGP of the season, and to say we are a new team with new bikes, we have had an incredible weekend. Mikael coming back from injury to get two podiums is amazing and Jamie managed fourth and fifth in class which was great. We’ ve gained some valuable race time and I can’ t wait to see what the boys can do in Spain next month!”, said Paul Edmondson.. With one month until the next round of the 2025 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, the team will surely take advantage of the extra training time ahead of the GP of Spain in Oliana on May 2-4.
