TRIUMPH ON THE PODIUM
After Triumph announced its new enduro models last week, we’ ve been excited to see what was coming next. And the British Manufacturer fired its opening shots in the 2025 EnduroGP series at the first round in Fafe, Portugal, with two riders on the newly launched TF250-E.
Racing for Triumph in the Enduro1 category under the guidance of Team Manager, four-time world champion, Paul Edmondson is the experienced duo of Jamie McCanney and Mikael Persson, lining up to compete in Triumph’ s inaugural season in EnduroGP. Manxman McCanney joined the Triumph Factory Racing Enduro Team with a wealth of experience. A former Youth and Junior World Champion, the 30-year-old has secured runnerup finishes in Enduro2 and Enduro1, and was a key rider in Team Great Britain’ s International Six Days Enduro( ISDE) victory in 2022. Last year, McCanney claimed four podiums in the E1 class before an injury cut his season short. Swedish rider Mikael Persson brings a heap of experience to the team. A proven contender on the world stage, the 30-year-old finished as runner-up in the Enduro3 World Championship in 2022 and 2023, and topped the E3 class at the
2022 ISDE in France. After competing in E2 last year, Persson will now contest the E1 category in 2025. Leading the team is Paul Edmondson, an ultraexperienced, former multi-time world champion who has been involved in Triumph’ s off-road project from the beginning. Already in 2025, Triumph Factory Racing achieved success in its first ever FIM SuperEnduro World Championship campaign, with Jonny Walker securing multiple podiums and a race win to clinch an impressive second overall in the series.
THE RESULTS SO FAR Triumph must be pretty happy with the results from SuperEnduro Round One. Mikael Persson secured back-to-back podiums in the Enduro1 class in Portugal.
