For the likeable Reed it was a welcome
return to his "home away from home"...
a hat-trick of wins at Auckland allowing
him to add that to his three United States
crowns in a racing career that seems to
have no end.
The 36-year-old Reed, from Kurri Kurri in
New South Wales, has been a many-time
visitor to New Zealand over the years
and he was the obvious crowd favourite
at Auckland, with the Mt Smart venue
threatening to erupt each time he took the
che ered a
Reed made several trips to New Zealand
in the 1990s, the young man keen to test
himself before eventually heading to
Europe and then the US, where he went on
to craft a brilliant international career.

this "old man" of the sport.
“I’m 36 years old and I’m not supposed
to be winning like this, at this level. Bring
on A1 is all I can say,” said Reed, referring
to the 2019 US supercross championship
opener, set for Angel Stadium, in Anaheim,
California, on January 5.
