30,000 FANS ATTEND
MOTO GUZZI OPEN DAYS
E
arlier this month over 30,000 riders from
across Europe descended on Moto Guzzi’s
home town of Mandello del Lario for the
annual celebration of the unique Italian brand.
Over the weekend of Septemer 6-8, the Mandello
Moto Guzzi plant was peacefully invaded by bikers
and enthusiasts, as well as families and convoys of
friends.
Off the back of the release of the popular new
Moto Guzzi V85 TT – which has already become
the brand’s top-selling model – the event attracted
a record number of attendees with 20,000 Guzzi
fans showing up on the Saturday of Moto Guzzi
88 KIWI RIDER
Open Days alone.
Attendees were treated to nearly full access to
the Moto Guzzi complex, including the Moto Guzzi
Museum – which houses and preserves more
than 150 historic models beginning with the 50s
era racing bikes, including the legendary eight-
cylinder 500 – the infamous wind tunnel and the
assembly lines within the factory itself.
With Moto Guzzi Open Days being an annual
event, it is a must for any Guzzisti to get along
to the home of the modern transverse V-twin
motorcycle.
