GIVI 30 LITRE WATERPROOF BAG

This Givi roll-top bag has been kicking around at Kiwi Rider for a couple of years. It’ s been used on cruisers, trail bikes, lashed down to our Ural sidecar outfit and even been used on a kayaking trip. One of the things I demand of a waterproof bag for bikes is that it’ s waterproof. Seems obvious... but I’ ve lost count of the number of‘ waterproof’ bags I’ ve tested over the years that weren’ t actually waterproof. Givi’ s WP407‘ waterproof cylinder for the seat,’ however, is waterproof. It’ s a simple design but simple designs often work far better than complex ones, especially where waterproofing is concerned. Ok, so there aren’ t any handy external pockets or easy-toaccess zips but what it does offer is 30 litres of dry storage for all of your kit. The opening / closing system is the same as the drybags favoured by kayakers and river-rafters the world over; fold it over, roll and then clip the two ends together. I’ ve done three big 800km + weekend trips with the bag carrying everything from camera gear to spare undies and they’ ve all stayed dry despite some particularly memorable weather. The bungee attachment points are sturdy, the bag comes with a detachable shoulder strap and four bungees, and has a bright yellow high-vis flash to help you be seen. This bag has been updated but it’ s still listed for sale, along with the new version.
