2024 WR250 AND 450 ON THE WAY
Yamaha ’ s fresh new WR models have dropped with the WR450F getting an overhaul for the 2024 model year . For 2024 , the WR250F remains the same as 2023 , but the big-bore 450 sees real moves in refinement for the 450 enduro machine . Once again , Yamaha has utilised the YZ450 MX platform as its base for the 2024 WR450F , which means like the YZ the new WR is now slimmer , lighter , lower and more tractable than before with longer , stronger pulling power .
It ’ s been a thorough refresh with a new engine to power the new YZ-derived chassis that sees an overall lighter build with further efforts to centralise mass . Yamaha has made bold claims that its testing time - which includes both Kiwis and Aussies - paid special attention to tuning the bike for its intended use as a fast enduro machine . That should mean that while the WR450F has MX roots , the power delivery , handling and suspension are unique to this model and developed specifically for riding in
