So , again , put the WR engine in the FX and basically shut up and take my money . I wonder if the FX could be tamed down using the Yamaha App to make it like the WR ? I ’ d be more than happy to borrow one for a few months to try . On the trails we rode , the 450FX felt better on the MX track where it had much more loamy
conditions . It actually felt very similar to the 450F , and I don ’ t think that is necessarily a bad thing either . I managed to find a few hills on the WR and some grass to churn up and I really loved it – again the power delivery being the standout . And even for a 450 you feel a lot more in control compared to the F or FX – at least I did . This makes me wonder how good the new WR and FX 250s are going to be .
THE SKINNY For a first impression type of ride where I wasn ’ t able to set the bikes up how I wanted them ( bars , levers , rear brake height , suspension sag etc ), combined with minimal seat time on each model , I think the 2025 line up from the bLUcRU covers a lot of bases . If you ’ re in the market for a new bike , I think these have big potential and wouldn ’ t hesitate in recommending any of these . I believe you can test these bikes out at the next Epic Events Berm Buster . So put that in your calendar if you want to try before you put your cash down . They might even have the two new 250s there too - fingers crossed .
