With the Tenere 700 ’ s standard suspension coming in for a lot of flack , Ray Heron has gone full YSS on his Yamaha ’ s bouncy bits .
In two and a half years of Tenere 700 ownership , I ’ ve managed to rack up 40,000km . In that time , the number one question people have kept asking me is “ When are you going to upgrade the suspension ?”. In truth , apart from foolishly attempting to chase down Ben Townley on a Wairarapa riverbed during the Yamaha Adventure Ride 2022 , I ’ d never really seen the need . Maybe that ’ s because I ’ ve never ridden anything better ? Or perhaps because I ’ m a hamfisted luddite and wouldn ’ t notice the difference even if I had the best suspension package under me ? I think there ’ s always been a little voice in the back of my head that kept saying new suspension was expensive and beyond the realms of a mere mortal such as me . At the end of the day , I ’ ve just ridden my bike and accepted it for what it is .
LEAK SPARKS UPDATES I noticed a leak in the right-hand fork seal after a ride and knew it had to be fixed . And because I am of the mindset that if you ’ re going to fix something , you may as well improve on it , I put a call into Robert Hadley at RS Motorcycles in
