and glare resistance and the software system of menus and infographics have been redesigned to make alterations to the behaviour of the KTM 890 Adventure even simpler . An updated ABS system now runs on a new 9.3MP ABS unit . This feeds from the 6D sensor to enable the full possible braking power in wide a range of conditions . The ABS is synced closer to the ride modes , with OFFROAD ABS ( maximising braking control through disengagement on the rear wheel and lowered amount on the front ) is activated automatically in OFFROAD or RALLY . The KTM 890 Adventure can be clicked into STREET , OFFROAD , RAIN and an optional RALLY mode . Love it or hate it , just like the R model , the 890 Adventure also ships with KTM ’ s controversial DEMO setting , which gives the rider the chance to try the full range of Rider Aids for the first 1500km before deciding whether to purchase and keep them permanently . The KTM 890 Adventure is available to preorder now , ready to hit the road from Feb 2023 . In a surprise move , KTM is reintroducing the 790 which follows a very similar vein as the reworked 890 Adventure . However , KTM seems to be bringing back the 790 platform to compete with cheaper adventure bikes on the market , while still offering the potent performance and high-end tech expected of a KTM . The 790 ’ s LC8c engine still pumps out 95hp at 8000rpm and 88Nm at 6500rpm , but now also meets Euro 5 and offers better rideability thanks to a 20 % increase in rotating mass . The new 2023 790 Adventure will be built by KTM ’ s partner in China CFMOTO with whom KTM already shares the 790 platform as CFMOTO ’ s 800MT is heavily based on the original 790 ADV . If CFMOTO could produce the KTM 790 Adventure for a similar price to their own 800MT , KTM would be able to plug the large price gap in its lineup between the entrylevel 390 Adventure and the 690 Enduro However , for now , we ’ ll have to wait and see how the 790 ’ s return plays out overseas as KTM NZ has stated that there are currently no plans to bring the 790 Adventure back to the Kiwi marketplace .
