them affordable and as a , let ’ s say , hefty rider , the factory springers weren ’ t up to the job of keeping me under control . Between tips from Vege , Ben ( KR Editor ) and Jock ( KR tester at large ), I managed to man handle the bike for another year before I finally got the bike down to Taupo ’ s MotoSR for some suspension work . The fork and rear shock were re-valved and re-sprung to my weight as well as building in a bit of wiggle room for luggage , and to say the bike came back out of the shop a different beast was an understatement . Seriously , if you own a CRF250L or 300L with the pathetically soft factory suspension , get it to a professional suspension tuner ASAP . You ’ ll thank me for it . Feeling more in control , the last thing to address was the CRF250L ’ s other weak point , the clutch . From the factory these have what Honda calls a ‘ judder spring ’, which makes the
