TRACTION CONTROL
Not only does the engine have a dual map switch on the bars , the traction control has an on / off switch right next door , which is super clean and out of the way . Basically , the TC function analyses throttle input from the rider and the rate at which the revs increase . If revs increase too quickly , the ECU registers a loss of grip and reduces the amount of power to the rear wheel enabling maximum traction . Simple really , it ’ s almost like throttling off to gain traction like in the old days .
NEW GENERATION CHASSIS
For 2017 the FE retained the same geometry as for 2016 , but with some slight changes to the chromoly frame they have managed to save 0.6kg . It ’ s slightly stiffer and Husqvarna claim it ’ s got better bump absorption and suspension functionality – something I found hard to feel . Another interesting fact is that WP Performance Systems actually build the frames to go hand-in-hand with the WP suspension . Again for 2017 we see the innovative composite carbon fibre subframe unique to Husqvarna . This three-piece component is made up of 30 % carbon fibre , making it 1kg lighter than the subframe
