One of the main reasons Kiwi Rider got this GasGas ES700 Enduro in for long term test was to have a road legal trail bike that could double as a lightweight adventure tourer . As a trail bike I ’ ve found it a great machine , light enough and capable enough for mere mortals like me to take on trails that would prove butt-clenching , possibly terrifying , on an adventure bike . The adventure touring aspect means distances to be covered , and it ’ s been pretty good at that too . It could definitely do with a screen to make 100km / h cruising easier , as it is 85-90km / h is more comfortable . I ’ ve not managed to source one yet though . I ’ d be lying if I said I ’ d look forward to riding it for 300km + day after day like I do on a gravel tour . Seat Concepts out of the USA has been making comfy seats years and they ’ re very popular among 690 and 701 owners . At the current time they don ’ t make a seat for the ES700 , but I spied a comfy seat option on the GasGas Technical
