with the 300SE feeling like a smaller bike , but , weirdly , it actually has a 20mm higher seat height than my own Beta 300 ( I later found this to be a bonus as a taller rider because I could grip the bike better ). Other small things I noticed were that the bar bend is comfortable , something I am quite particular about , and that Sherco uses Motul oil from the factory , which is my chosen lubricant brand since day one , so that ’ s a couple of extra positives for the Sherco . I was blown away to see how many shiny parts Sherco have thrown onto the pretty much ready to go racing machine . There are bits of fruit like a FMF Gold Series ‘ Gnarly ’ pipe paired with an FES aluminium silencer , Brembo hydraulics , 260mm Galfer front disc and 220mm Galfer solid rear disc , AXP skid plate and a fan paired with some well-structured radiator braces . These are all worth having and means those bits don ’ t need replacing , leaving extra money in the racing fund .
RIDING IMPRESSIONS Getting out for my first session I wanted to get a feel for the motor . It didn ’ t take long to feel at home on the bike , and the 300 gave me a lot of confidence to attack anything I fancied pointing it at . The biggest thing I noticed was
