It’s pretty clear that I liked the BMW
S1000R, so I broke my own rule and
decided I would take a look at other
reviews to make sure I was being honest,
and not just delivering an enamoured
story because we seemed to bond so well.
Too often there’s a grudging approval of
BMW that seems to come with a proviso
on personality, or efficiency, or some
other perverse positivity then offered as
a negative. Nothing like that here, and
seemingly little from anyone else either.
+o
Complete package;
easy to live with spo!s bike.
Jock still thinks it needs a screen.
The 1000R does have personality, it
has performance, it has smarts, calm,
incredible torque, smart styling and
impeccable handling. It has desirability
and chutzpah. There’s a little weight on
the wrists round town, with that riding
position, but even that disappears as soon
as you reach 90plus km/h.
So whats it like really?
In the words of my patient friends...
“Mate! That is KICK-ARSE!”
