Race Two. Sixth in the championship, a couple of points ahead of Bassani, is demonstration he deserves a seat in the series next season. Balda, like Surra, has added a lot to the series this year and it would be a real loss if he doesn’ t have a seat in 2027.
BMW In the BMW camp, Petrucci and Oliveira qualified eighteenth and nineteenth and the weekend didn’ t get much better from there. Oliveira didn’ t make the Race One restart, Petrux finished 13th, neither of them scored in the Sprint Race and Petrux’ s 12th in Race Two was the‘ highlight’ of the weekend. One point from Oliveria and seven from Petrux for the weekend wouldn’ t sit well with the team that won the championship with Toprak last year.
YAMAHA Xavi Vierge was the only man in the Yamaha camp to score in all races. A hard pass by him landed Remy Gardner on the deck in Race One. Gardner was seen clapping sarcastically as he walked away from the scene of the crime so, the chat in the Yamaha pits afterwards might have been interesting. As the weekend’ s scores were tallied up, Vierge outscored both Locatelli and Gardner on the other Yamahas and Stefano Manzi, perhaps rattled physically after his Race One highside, didn’ t score in any race. Given Yamaha’ s decision to release him at the end of the season, you’ d have to think his goal now would be to prove a point and be the top Yamaha man on the championship table at the end of 2026 and, having outscored Locatelli in the last two rounds and being only eight points adrift, that’ s an achievable target.
