The boffins in Britain will be beside themselves after watching a Triumph 1-2 in China. Camden McLellan won the round from teammate Guillem Farres, keeping the title fight statistically open, albeit only just. Farres heads to The Land Downunder with a 48 point lead over McLellan but it ain’ t over till it’ s over, as they say. If McLellan didn’ t take that round win, it would have been over in the title fight. So, friendly fire from within the pits keeps Farres honest in the finale. The round in China was a great opportunity for the local wildcards and next year there will be a couple of Chinese manufacturers in the mix as well, so the sport has just inherited a massive fan base.

Two decades of world dominance is what Toni Bou( Montessa) has wrapped up at the latest round. Now 39 years young, the living legend has been at the top of the pile since he was nineteen. While he didn’ t have it all his way in the final round, he looked past a surprise five on one section and calmly pulled the points back into line before doing what he does and cleaned the toughest obstacles in motorcycling and completed the 20 / 20, as in twenty indoor world titles in a row to go with his twenty outdoor crowns. If you haven’ t seen the master at work, he has some amazing videos up on the ethers to watch. He is also more than a little handy on an enduro bike or a big adventure model. Class is class.
