14 ON THE TROT FOR HERLINGS
The Flying Honda HRC Petronas rider is in unstoppable form and in the sand, is proving simply supreme. There are only three rounds remaining and Jeffrey Herlings now has a 143-point lead. The maths doesn’ t make for good reading for his competitors. Winning the last fourteen races in a row is a level of dominance rarely seen at this level but when you’ re on, you’ re on. And Herlings is on.
He did have to fight for it but he seems to have confidence in his ability to pounce when rivals make a small mistake when fatigue bites. Not taking big risks, it is a case of knowing you can’ t win the title with a single race but you sure can lose it in one race. A solid score in the next round could well seal the deal for Herlings.
