KIWI RIDERS
What ’ s your favourite ride in New Zealand ? “ If I ’ ve got a couple of hours , my favourite local ride is north of Rangiora . Along Scargill Road , out to Greta Valley and back again . Further afield you can ’ t beat going through the Lindis Pass . It ’ s just incredible at any time of the year .”
What ’ s a bucket list ride ? “ I have so many ! I ’ ve never been to the Coromandel , so that ’ s definitely happening next year . I ’ d also love to ride around Taranaki , or the western coast of the North Island .”
Why do you love riding ? “ For me , it ’ s being in the moment and an escape from the stress of reality . We spend a lot of time either reflecting on the past or worrying about the future , and when you ’ re riding a motorbike you can just be alive in that moment , concentrating on right now . Nothing else matters .”
How often do you ride ? “ As much as I possibly can . I ’ ve got lots of different friends and groups I ride with . I ’ m an admin for Canterbury Women Motorcyclists and our rides are always very popular , because

we cater for all ages and abilities . I love to encourage more women and girls to get onto motorbikes because they ’ re such good fun .”
What ’ s your least favourite part of riding ? “ Being too cold . Getting heated grips was one of my best decisions ever - they ’ re a lifesaver .”
