Mid-season ‘ Goldilocks ’ gloves that ’ ll cover much of your riding year .

We ’ re at that wonderful point of the riding year , with longer days , less rain and more sunshine . It ’ s also that point where summer gloves are too cold for the sub-15-degree temperatures , yet it ’ s too warm for those bulky , but toasty , winter gloves . It ’ s the perfect weather for those in-between gloves . I firmly believe in having the right kit for the right situation , and for me that means three sets of gloves . I have a very light pair of gloves for summer , really warm ones for winter < read the Triumph Malvern Gloves review > and my most versatile gloves – Alpinestars ’ Corozal v2 . I know some of you will be rolling your eyes , determined to make one pair of gloves suffice – I ’ d say you probably don ’ t ride all year , or you don ’ t have the seasonal riding extremes some of us do . The Corozal is a short-cuff , lightly insulated , waterproof glove that ’ s a mixture of leather in abrasion areas ( palm , fingers , knuckles ) and fabric for warmth ( back of the hand , thumb and fingers ). The waterproofing comes from Alpinestars ’ own Drystar waterproof membrane , which is bonded onto the glove material , rather than a ‘ bag ’ that your fingers go it , giving the feeling of a normal , but slightly thicker , summer glove . The forefinger and thumb tips are touchscreen compatible – something essential for those of us who use a smartphone for navigation . One caveat here though , those finger pads don ’ t always work with a screenprotector . Some screen-protectors seem to work differently to others , so you might want to
