ROAD NEWS DUCATI MULTISTRADA PROVES ITS COMPETITION METTLE W hile the Ducati brand is far from unfamiliar with the winner’s circle in competition, it has been some time since one of the Italian’s signature L-twin engine’s has seen success on the rally-raid circuit. Despite its outward guise as an adventure tourer, Ducati’s Multistrada 1260 has brought the brand back to the podium in rallying at the Turkish Transanatolia Rally. Taking first place in the twin-cylinder category thanks to the talents of Ducati test rider Andrea Rossi. The Turkish race, like most rally-raid events, is demanding for motorbikes and competitors and sees both professional and amateur riders at the start. The route consists of an extremely rocky terrain that alternates between dirt roads, sand and very fast stages. The 2020 edition was held between August 15-22 August and the itinerary, developed over seven days, included the departure from Istanbul to arrive in Şile, crossing the cities of Abant, Aymana and Karadag, for a total of 2850km. The Multistrada 1260 Enduro raced in Turkey equipped with bull-bars, radiator guards and type-approved silencer all from the Ducati Performance accessories selection.
