DIRT NEWS

HE IS THE MAN

Manuel( Call him Manni) Lettenbichler took his Red Bull Factory Racing KTM 300EXC to a hard-fought win in the Sea To Sky FIM Hard Enduro World Championship round in Turkey. The final stage saw the riders tackle the famed Mount Olympos, a climb from the beach to the summit, some 2365m of vertical climb over the testing stage. Leading the series, Manni was as thrilled to be back in good health, battling illness over the two previous outings. What started out as a tight tussle between the usual suspects eventually saw gaps appear and Mr Consistent, Lettenbichler, kept that famous focus and, second by second, minute by minute, stretched the elastic until breaking free in the final leg and finishing with what sounded like a comfortable gap of 5 minutes 47 seconds. Although he didn’ t call any of it easy, more a relief to see the finish line in front and feeling good. Possibly not what his competitors needed going into the next round.

JORGE PRADO EXITS TEAM GREEN

Here is one for the rumour mill … Prado makes an early exit from his contract with Kawasaki Motors Corp U. S. A. An agreement has been reached but where is Prado heading? As of October 16, Prado is a free agent but nobody really thinks he is in the contract wilderness, just being coy about his next step. Always nice to play crystal ball gazing ahead of the new season.
