For whom ? The Classic 350 has all the modern niceties , like ABS assisting the twin-piston calipers to haul you up safely while refusing to fully accept the 21st century ’ s idea of aesthetics , which I feel is core to its success . It is aimed at people with the same ideals . I am not one of them . But I can fully appreciate those who are . I would rather this tastefully crafted motorcycle than a similar powered , range inhibited silent vehicle that rolls , sans the class of the Royal Enfield , anonymously to and from anywhere . For that reason alone , I get it . Around town , I quite enjoyed it once I adjusted the assertive commuter gene into line . It is a gentler pace ; less cluttered and more polite than I am accustomed to , but that , I hate to say , is a harsher indictment of me than the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Halcyon . A brand new classic-styled ride for $ 7990 puts it in the commuter mix alongside faster small capacity bikes , a bunch of Class 6 licence scooters and some of the new e-commuters , but it is offering a point of difference and will age well , obviously , as classic style , so they say , never goes out of fashion .
