– Too mild for me market Royal Enfield are aiming at . Around town , chuffing along , it is a pretty decent commuter . Mild mannered , light on the controls and nicely balanced , hiding the pretty porky weight figure well . It is also way cooler than many other commuter options that don ’ t have people admiring and asking how old that ‘ lovely classic ’ is . Heading towards the open road speed sign , I was trying to keep that neutral headspace . I had deliberately not ridden for a couple of days , which is a big deal in my world . I was here to see why these bikes sell so well across the globe and I knew it had nothing to do with horsepower . You sit on top of the Classic 350 , much like you

do on many classic English motorcycles , so that vintage vibe is undeniable . Opening up the 350J engine and its long-stroke , meaty flywheel style pulls well enough as you leave suburbia behind . It plateaus pretty early and you find yourself in top pretty soon . Once there , you ’ ll know if it is the bike for you or not . If speed is your thing , this gentle beast is not for you . If you want that genteel pootle in the countryside , a swanky commuter , or even a learner-legal motorcycle with loads of class , hey , it may well be a match made in heaven .
