morning’ s forecast deluge. Oh boy, was that a good decision- no sooner had I reached the campsite at 9pm and pitched my tent, when a heavy storm started. Since I have plenty of calories in reserve( I’ d be very happy if I could lose at least one stone from my bodyweight), I skipped dinner and retreated into my tent. With short interruptions from the wind and rain, I slept like a baby until the morning- and even a bit beyond it. The heavy rain and strong winds truly put my Orson Hopper 2 Pro tent to the test, but it stood the hammering of the elements, keeping me dry and cosy.
THE RIDING I’ d had no problem zipping up to the campsite on Friday evening. The LED lights blast out enough light for safe night time riding. Possibly even a little too much, because cars were often flashing their lights to indicate that mine was too strong. All I could do was flash mine back to signal that I’ ve only got the one setting- and a strong one( the headlight aim could have been off). I had my brunch in a gradually-easing rain. Eventually, the weather cleared at about 1pm, and I left the campsite to see what the little 250SX could do. Originally, I planned a longer ride for Saturday,
